I was told by my contacts on the ground that Maui is ok on supplies for now, but War Memorial specifically can use baby supplies, feminine hygiene supplies and new underwear. While monetary donations is what is largely preferred for recovery efforts, I will still be coordinating an on-going drive over the next few weeks to send a shipment over when the time is right. Maui will need help in the rebuilding and resettlement phase, but right now I am told that they are good with supplies and don’t need it ATM. San Diego, let’s activate and stockpile what we can until it’s time to send the kākoʻo.

For food donations it is best to go directly through Maui Food Bank or Foodland. They too are asking for direct monetary donations.

Maui Humane Society is also good to work with directly for our pets. If you can foster, please help the many families who had to evacuate their beloved fur babies. Pet food is always needed and I will be accepting that during the drive.
